Statement: The photograph is the greatest ally of time’s illusion. The family album is an argument for the reality of the past, using photographic evidence to perpetuate a phantom self. The mind eagerly weaves a link between chronicle and person, imbuing these frozen moments with new richness. It is through fantasy that a new past is created.
I am interested in the psychological terrain of this new past, and how the mind manufactures certainty.
