BRIAN FARRELL
Native New Yorker, Brian Farrell studied Landscape Development/Architecture at the University Cobleskill in 1986 and completed his degree at Syracuse University. Not satisfied with his choice of career, Farrell went on to study Advertising Communications at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Farrell launched his painting career in 1997 with an exhibit in New York City. The paintings were abstract, two toned landscapes. They were architectural in style and explored depth of field with solid color. Farrell spent several years exploring a wide variety of techniques, styles, and materials. Areas of Quantum Physics became a dominating focus of interest.
In 2007, Farrell began formally training in traditional figure painting at The New York Academy of Art. it was during this time he began adding the figure to his work. He used it, with mixed media to explain theories of wormhole travel, parallel worlds, particle matter light, death, and thermodynamics. Music had also become a dominant driving influence of his work.
