Misha Tyutyunik is a Brooklyn based, contemporary painter working mostly in acrylics and mixed media. Born in Soviet Ukraine, Misha came to the United States with his family in the summer of 1991. He is a Pratt Institute Graduate with a Bachelor’s degree in Fine Arts.
Misha’s art is figurative in nature, blending elements of pop culture with social/political satire. His paintings have been exhibited across New York’s gallery scene including shows in Chelsea, LES, DUMBO and Williamsburg. In addition to being a gifted painter, Misha is also an accomplished muralist. His work can be seen throughout the greater New York area (most recently for Amtrak and installed at the Barclay Center in Brooklyn) and Philadelphia. He works with both private and public organizations such as Groundswell, The Brooklyn Arts Council, and The South Bronx Economic Development Organization.
A Charismatic performer, Misha has been commissioned to do live paintings for many establishments in New York and for celebrity events such as the Big Boi Record release performance at S.O.B’s in 2012. He is also a prolific illustrator with work featured in publications like Vibe Magazine and Citizen NY – and he is a sought after designer working for companies such as A&E Television Networks, The History Channel, Coca Cola, ENK, and Concept One.
