Anderson Contemporary is pleased to present HOOLIGANS A group exhibition curated by Dominique Ramirez and Michael Barkagan.
“Hooligans” comprises the artwork of three native New Yorkers: Ian Sullivan, Josh Fayer, and Victoria De Lesseps. The group exhibition explores the impact both physical and social environments leave on the human psyche. Flooded with mischief, Ian Sullivan’s cityscape murals and portraits contrast his colorful personas against the dark realities of city life. Working with resin on canvas, Josh Fayer manifests the connection between consciousness and space with his abstract interpretations of nature. Victoria De Lessep’s paintings of the human form depict the battles raging within oneself.
Opening reception:Thursday, July 13th from 6:00-8:00 p.m. The opening will also include a short video presentation filmed by David Karp. The exhibit will feature a collaborative piece incorporating the work of all three artists. The construction of the piece will be facilitated by Tribeca’s Worthless Studios.
